What is DKP? DKP are "dragon kill points" and it is a system to make sure raid loot is given out fairly. Obviously, we're not killing dragons in TSW. The term comes from other MMOs. We use a type of 'suicide kings' system.
THREE DKP for signing up online and showing up when the raid starts. Even if you sign up for the raid on the calendar, you have to check in IN GAME to secure your spot and to get credit. As there are a lot of people who sign up/hear about it/etc., the 8 spots (two are for the raid coordinators) are first come, first serve.
You get sign up/show up DKP *even if* you don’t raid because you either offer to sit or are an alternate. If you’re not around when you need to alternate in, you lose these points.
TWO DKP for showing up at the start of the raid without signing up for it (when we come beg you to raid because we need more people).
THREE DKP points every time we clear the raid/defeat the Lurker.
So you can earn 6 DKP max per raid.
When we have completed a raid successfully, the person with the most DKP can spend ALL of their DKP to buy one loot item (and that person's DKP drops to 0). The person with the next-highest total then has the option to spend ALL of their DKP to buy one remaining item. Usually four loot items drop in a raid, so the people with the four highest DKP totals are offered the chance to buy one item. If a person doesn't want to spend all their DKP to buy one item, their DKP keep accruing, and the opportunity to buy an item passes to the person with the next highest total.
You can spend all your DKP to "buy" an item from the raid loot (dropped weapon or talisman, criterion, or fuse).
If no one wants to spend DKP on an item, then we will put it up for greed, and the highest /roll wins it and no DKP is spent.
